Lines of Movement, Method of
one of the cartographic methods of presentation. The method of lines of movement is used to show the routes of movement of objects and phenomena (for example, sea currents, bird migrations, the routes of travel, and cargo shipping) and to indicate political and economic links, dependencies, and influences (for example, the directions of commodity export and import, and plans of military operations).
