navigation bar
(redirected from Linkbar)

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
navigation bar
A set of buttons or graphic images typically in a row or column used as a central point to link the user to major topic sections on a Web site. The navigation bar may be a single graphic image with multiple selections (see imagemap). See masthead.

A Typical Navigation Bar
As the screen pointer is moved across the bar, the individual elements typically change color or shading. Clicking each element on the bar directs the user to a different page on the Web site. This bar is not an "imagemap," because each element is actually a separate graphic image.
