He and his course-superintendent brothers, Yosh and Kyle, have overseen a facility that has the feel of a links course, with minimal rough but stiff breezes - particularly in the afternoon - and lakes that come into play on seven holes and large undulating greens. Pinos Lighthouse - the oldest operating lighthouse on the West Coast - and resembles a seaside links course as it meanders through dunes alongside the rocky shore. The Ailsa has always been my favourite links course and it's great that Ayrshire has another Open Championship on the horizon. |
