Little, Arthur D. (Dehon) (1863–1935) chemical engineer; born in Boston, Mass. He was an authority on paper technology and chemistry and he formed Little & Walker (1900), which became Arthur D. Little, Inc. (1909). The company became the U.S.A.'s largest private industrial research laboratory, moving from research on paper to leather tanning, petroleum, and other areas of applied science and eventually branching out to include many areas of business management.
