Livingston, Philip (1716–78) Revolutionary patriot; born in Albany, N.Y. He had cultural, intellectual, and political interests and was one of the founders of King's College (later Columbia) and N.Y. Society Library. He served in the Continental Congress (1774–78) and signed the Declaration of Independence.
