Livländische Reimchronik
(Ancient Livonian Rhymed Chronicle), an important historical source for studying the struggle of the peoples of the eastern Baltic coast in the 13th century against the aggression of German feudal lords and the Catholic Church. It was composed in Middle German at the end of the 13th century and comprised 12,017 rhymed lines. The anonymous author was a member of the Livonian Order who witnessed the events described from 1279. The Livländische Reimchronik defended the conquest of the region and extolled the exploits of the Livonian Order. REFERENCEZutis, J. Ocherki po istoriografii Latvii, part 1.
