Llaima

an active volcano on the western slopes of the Cordillera Principal of the Andes, in south central Chile. Elevation, 3,060 m. There are Araucaria pine forests on the slopes, and perennial snow is found above 2,000 m. The volcano is part of the Los Paraguas National Park; it is a center for tourism.
