Locust Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site Location: 3 miles west of Laclede on US 36, and 1 mile northeast on a gravel road (Danube Drive) in Linn County. Facilities: Picnic area. Special Features: Originally known as the Linn County Bridge, at 151 feet this bridge is the longest of the four remaining covered bridges in the state. The Howe-truss bridge was built in 1868 and housed America's first transcontinental road, Route 8. Bridge is reached by a quarter-mile walk down a historic road. Address: c/o Gen.
