Locust Grove State Historic Site Location: North of Saint Francisville in West Feliciana Parish, on Bains-Ristroph Road, off LA 10. Special Features: Locust Grove is the site of a small cemetery with only 27 plots and is all that remains of what was once Locust Grove Plantation, owned by the sister of Jefferson Davis. In 1835 the future President of the Confederacy brought his young bride here for a visit. Both contracted malaria, and Mrs. Davis, who was also the daughter of Zachary Taylor, died. Her grave is here among other Davis family members.
