Location:In the central eastern part of the state, 7 miles north of Pottsville.
Facilities:282 class A campsites, showers, flush toilets, hiking trails (5 miles), bike trail, swimming beach, boat rentals, boat launch, amphitheater, camp store, playgrounds.
Activities:Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, hunting, ice fishing, ice skating, sledding, nature programs.
Special Features:Park is adjacent to Weiser State Forest, with numerous miles of scenic state forest roads, trails, and scenic overlooks. Locust Lake sits between two campgrounds and is surrounded by forest.

April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Lew Williams, assistant park manager of the French Creek State Park Complex in Berks and Chester counties, has been named manager of the Tuscarora State Park Complex in Schuylkill County, which includes Locust Lake State Park.
Williams, 56, will oversee Tuscarora's 1,716 acres, including the 96-acre Tuscarora Lake, and neighboring Locust Lake State Park, with 1,144 acres and a 52-acre waterway.
Neighboring Locust Lake State Park is especially popular with campers.
Thirteen volunteers, including a group from PPL, removed construction materials, tires, appliances and household trash from Silver Creek Tract, which is adjacent to Locust Lake State Park.
