Logan, city (1990 pop. 32,762), seat of Cache co., N Utah, on the Logan River; inc. 1859. It is the center of an irrigated dairy and farm area, with huge cheese plants, other food-processing facilities, and diverse manufactures. Logan was founded (1859) by Mormons, and a Latter-Day Saints tabernacle (Logan Temple) and Utah State Univ. are located there. Cache National Forest is nearby, and Logan Peak is visible from the city.
Logan Mount. a mountain in NW Canada, in SW Yukon in the St. Elias Range: the highest peak in Canada and the second highest in North America. Height (after a re-survey in 1993): 5959 m (19 550 ft.) Logan a mountain peak in northwestern Canada, in the St. Elias Mountains; the second-highest mountain in North America (elevation, 6,050 m). Mount Logan is composed of granites and is covered with extensive glaciers that reach almost to its base. Numerous valley glaciers originate on Mount Logan, including the Logan glacier (80 km long).
