Longhorn Cavern

Longhorn Cavern, limestone cave, central Tex., at Burnet. On the northern edge of the Edwards Plateau, the cave (explored length c.8 mi/13 km) lies beneath a triangular ridge rising above the valley of the Colorado River. Guided trails, 2 mi (3.2 km) long, have electric lighting.

The other Texas show caves are Longhorn Caverns between Burner and Marble Falls, and Inner Space in Georgetown near Austin; American Caves, 246-255.
Also top of the list is the Longhorn Caverns, where tours recall the days when outlaws, Native Americans and soldiers used them as shelter.
