Loschmidt’s Number

(N_L) the number of molecules in 1 cm³ of an ideal gas under standard conditions: N_L = N_A/V_V, where N_A is Avogadro’s number and V_v is the volume of 1 mole of an ideal gas (in cm³). Named after J. Loschmidt, it is equal to 2.687 × 10¹⁹ cm⁻³. In the western scientific literature the term is sometimes used to represent the number of molecules in 1 mole of a substance, that is, Avogadro’s number.
