Louisville State Recreation Area Location: 0.5 miles northwest of the community of Louisville, off NE 50. Facilities: 296 campsites (223 with electrical hookups; 236 sites have camping pads), modern restrooms, showers, trails, picnic areas, 5 picnic shelters, playground, swimming beach, bathhouse, camp store, river access. Activities: Camping, boating (electric motors or non-powered only), fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing. Special Features: Recreation area features 5 sandpit lakes and canoe access to the Platte River. It is located near Platte River State Park (see separate entries) and serves as an adjunct to it, with an excellent complex for RV camping.
