Lounsbury, Floyd

Lounsbury, Floyd (1914–  ) linguist; born in Stevens Point, Wis. Educated at Yale (Ph.D. 1949), he later taught there while pursuing research in linguistics and ethnology. He did fieldwork among the Oneida, Cherokee, and Seneca tribes and is the author of Comparative Indian Morphology.
