Lowey, Susan (1933– ) biochemist, physical chemist; born in Vienna, Austria. She performed research at Harvard (1957–59), moved to the Children's Cancer Research Foundation (Boston) (1959–72), then joined Brandeis University (1972). She made significant contributions to the physical chemistry of muscle proteins.
