Ludwig, Carl Friedrich Wilhelm (kärl frē`drĭkh vĭl`hĕlm l
t`vĭkh), 1816–95, German physiologist. He became world famous as professor (from 1865) and head of the physiological institute at the Univ. of Leipzig.
