Lufthansain full Deutsche Lufthansa AGOne of Europe's largest air-passenger, cargo, and airline-services companies. The airline originated in 1926 as Deutsche Luft Hansa AG and eventually was flying to destinations in South America and Southeast Asia before service was disrupted by World War II. The company took its current name in 1954 and began regular passenger air service in 1955. Originally a state-run airline, Lufthansa was privatized in the 1990s and began its multiyear acquisition of Swiss International Airlines in 2005. | Lufthansa inaugurated its thrice-weekly Frankfurt-Kolkata service Friday, making the West Bengal capital its sixth destination in India. SUN VALLEY - Lufthansa Technik AG, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, one of the largest airlines in Europe, has acquired a controlling interest in Hawker Pacific Aerospace, both companies announced Thursday. Association President Mikhail Kuzmin stated that the protestors were insisting on the investigation in order to shed light on the actions by Lufthansa and the German aviation authority against Ukraine's commercial air transport providers, to restart negotiations, and to renew flights to Germany by Ukraine's air carriers. |
