Luka Ivanov

Ivanov, Luka Ivanovich 

(pseudonym, L.I. Abramen-kov). Born in 1853 in the village of D’iakovo, Gzhatsk District, in present-day Smolensk Oblast; year of death unknown. Russian revolutionary worker. The son of a peasant. A weaver by trade.

In 1878, along with P.A. Moiseenko, Ivanov played a leading role in strikes in St. Petersburg. He had close ties with the Northern Union of Russian Workers. From 1880 to 1883 he served a term of administrative exile in Enisei Province. In 1884 he went to work at the Smirnov mill in the village of Likino, near Orekhovo-Zuevo. In 1886 he was banished to his home province for three years for his active role (along with Moiseenko) in the preparation and conduct of the Morozov strike of 1885. His subsequent fate is unknown.
