Lund Astronomical Institute 

a scientific research institution that had its origin in the astronomical observatory of the University of Lund in Sweden (the observatory had been founded in 1670 and rebuilt in 1753). The institute has a 16-cm Repsold meridian circle, a 24-cm refractor, and other small instruments. Its studies deal primarily with the distribution of stars, interstellar absorption, space research, and the theoretical investigation of the sun. It has been publishing Annals of Observatory of Lund since 1926.
