Formerly known as Columbia Island, this park was renamed in honor of Lady Bird Johnson and her campaign to beautify Washington D.C. Location: In Lady Bird Johnson Park, a Potomac River island in Washington, DC. Facilities: Picnic area, rest rooms (é), groceries, restaurant/snacks, marina. Activities: Boating, fishing, bicycling. Special Features: A living memorial to the 36th President, the park overlooks the Potomac River vista of the Capital. The design features 500 white pines and inscriptions on Texas granite.
