lymphoma

Any of a group of malignant diseases (see cancer) that usually start in the lymph nodes or lymphoid tissues. The two major types, Hodgkin disease and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, each have several subtypes. Diagnosis of either type requires biopsy, usually from the lymph nodes. Non-Hodgkin lymphomas may be diffuse (widespread) or nodular (concentrated in nodules); nodular lymphomas generally develop more slowly.

MALT lymphoma in patients with CVID is rare, and until now, it has not been reported in a cranial location outside of the parotid gland.
pylori testing has a well-circumscribed role (CDC [1997]) in the evaluation of patients who present with signs and symptoms most suggestive for gastric/duodenal ulcers; follow resection of early gastric cancer; and have low-grade gastric MALT lymphoma.
MALT lymphomas are sub-classified as either low-grade or high-grade.
