MCC
(The Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation, Austin, TX) The first high-tech research and development consortium in the U.S., created in 1982 by leading companies within the electronics industry. Pioneering research in advanced electronics, information systems, artificial intelligence and electronic packaging technologies are some of the areas where the consortium concentrated. In 2000, The MCC restructured itself to spin off major technology projects and oversee the separately funded start-ups.
