MEDITECH
(Medical Information Technology, Inc., Westwood, MA, www.meditech.com) A leading supplier of integrated healthcare information systems. Founded in 1969, its first packaged applications were introduced in the mid-1970s. Neil Pappalardo and Curtis Marble, two of the company's five co-founders, had previously developed the MUMPS programming language at Massachusetts General Hospital.

MEDITECH offers hospitals, physicians, clinics and home healthcare providers a variety of software products for medical accounting, patient care and laboratory operations. See M, MIIS and healthcare IT.

Under the agreement, Vocollect will use Boston WorkStation(TM) automation technology to enable AccuNurse voice-assisted care to seamlessly integrate with MEDITECH and other leading health care platforms.
Through the agreement, the companies will interface pricing, implementation and maintenance fees for hospital organizations that use the Meditech Magic or Meditech information systems in order to enhance patient safety and improve workflow efficiencies, they say.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and found out about Meditech by accident.
