MIC connector

(Medium Interface Connector) A fiber-optic cable connector that handles a pair of cables. The design of the plug and socket ensures that the polarity is maintained (transmit and receive cables are in correct order). It is used in FDDI and a variety of LANs and wiring hubs. The ATM module contains the MIC connector for the TAXI interface, and the Ethernet master module contains the four LAN or Ethernet ports.
The SAS version has a single MIC connector; the DAS version has dual MIC connectors -- both support standard FDDI multimode fiber cabling at distances of up to 2 kilometers.
