MP3 VBR

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.03 sec.
MP3 VBR
(MP3 Variable Bit Rate) An enhanced MP3 format that compresses the audio at varying rates based on the content. The compression is determined moment by moment; for example, silence and simple sounds compress much more than intricate sounds such as reverberation. Unless the entire musical composition is complex, MP3 VBR provides better overall sound quality without making the file size too much larger. See MP3 and mp3PRO.
