Maba 

(self-designations: Bora and Mabang; also known as the Wadai), a people living in the Republic of Chad, the Wadai region, around and east of Abéché, as well as in the bordering regions of the Republic of Sudan. The Maba, together with the related Masalit, Karanga, Fala (Bakka), and other peoples, number more than 200,000 (1970 estimate). The Maba language belongs to the Central and East Sudanese group; a considerable number of the Maba know Arabic. Their religion is Islam. Their chief occupations are crop raising (millet, maize, peanuts, and beans) and cattle breeding.
