Silvestro Lega, Giovanni Fattori, Vito d'Ancona, Giovanni (Nino) Costa, and Giovanni Boldini were among the artists of this school. They were best known for their landscapes, portraits, and genre genre (zhän`rə), in art-history terminology, a type of painting dealing with unidealized scenes and subjects of everyday life.
