Nałęcz, Maciej
Born 1922 in Warsaw. Polish scientist. Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (1973; corresponding member, 1967). Nałęcz graduated from the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute in 1949, and he subsequently joined its staff; he became a professor in 1962. He is the director of the Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and he is the chairman of the Polish Pugwash Committee. His principal works deal with bionics, the elements of automation, and the design of automatic control systems for industrial processes.
