Mack, Julian (William) (1866–1943) jurist, community leader; born in San Francisco. He earned his law degree at Harvard and taught law at Northwestern University (1895–1902) and at the University of Chicago (1902–11). He served as a U.S. circuit court judge from 1913 until his death. President of the Zionist Organization of America (1918–21), he was leader of the "Brandeis-Mack group," which favored investment rather than philanthropy for Palestine.
