Mackinac, Straits ofChannel connecting Lake Michigan with Lake Huron. Forming an important waterway between the Upper and Lower peninsulas of Michigan, U.S., the straits are 30 mi (48 km) long and 4 mi (6 km) wide at their narrowest point.
