3MgSiO3·5H2O White, water-insoluble powder, containing variable proportions of water of hydration; used as a filler for rubber and in medicine.

There are more than enough magnesium silicate rocks in ophiolite belts and in asbestos mine waste in Canada to store Canada's C[O.
The samples were homogenized and extracted with acetone--hexane (a small aliquot was used for the lipid determination gravimetrically), defatted with concentrated sulfuric acid, adsorbed on acid silica, and separated on activated magnesium silicate.
While none of the tested coatings fulfilled all the requirements, Davis found that magnesium reacts with the moisture released by the sodium silicate binder and the silica and oxygen to produce magnesium oxide which reacts with the silica in the binder to form an interfacial layer of magnesium silicate.
