| NIST scientists have recently implemented a Brillouin light scattering facility for characterizing acoustic and magnetic waves in thin-film and bulk materials. Some of the newest roller-coaster cars can travel up to 100 mph, riding on a magnetic wave generated within the track itself. First the stators generate a Magnetic Wave, the Magnetic Wave produces an Electric Wave in the rotor, the Electric Wave generates an electric current in the rotor and that generates a force which produces the famous AuraGen Torque. |
