Magnico
a magnetically hard iron-based material containing 24 percent Co, 14 percent Ni, 8 percent Al, and 3 percent Cu. The basic technological data on Magnico production in the USSR were formulated in the 1940’s by the Soviet scientist A. S. Zaimovskii. Magnico is an age-hardenable magnetic material. The anisotropy of magnetic properties peculiar to Magnico is attained by heat treatment in a magnetic field. Magnico was the basis for the creation of an entire series of hard-magnetic Magnico-type materials. (For the magnetic properties of Magnico, see.) Want to thank TFD for its existence?
