Melchisedec(both: mĕlkĭz`ədĕk) [Heb.,=king of righteousness], in the Bible, king of Salem and "priest of the most high God." He blessed Abraham after the defeat of Chedorlaomer, and Abraham gave him tithes from the enemy's spoils.
