Malyi Enisei
(also Ka-Khem, Kha-Kem), a river in Tuva ASSR (its sources are in the Mongolian People’s Republic); a left arm of the Enisei River. Length, 563 km; basin area, 58,700 sq km. The river originates in the Darkhat depression, where it is known as the Shishkhid-Gol. Its upper course in Tuva is called the Kyzyl-Khem; further in Tuva the river is known as the Ka-Khem or Malyi Enisei. It flows through a narrow valley and has rapids. The lower course is in the Tuva depression and is navigable. At the city of Kyzyl the Malyi Enisei joins the Bol’-shoi Enisei (Bii-Khem), forming the Verkhnii Enisei (UlugKhem).
