Malyi Iugan

 

a river in the Khanty-Mansi National Okrug, Tiumen’ Oblast, RSFSR; right tributary of the Bol’shoi Iugan (Ob’ basin). Length, 521 km; basin area, 10,200 sq km. The river meanders along the Vasiugan’e. It is fed by mixed sources, primarily by snow. High water occurs from May to July; rain causes flooding in September and October. The average flow rate 166 km from the mouth is approximately 60 cu m per sec. The Malyi lugan freezes in October and thaws in late April or in May.
