Maquoketa Caves State Park Location: 7 miles northwest of Maquoketa. Facilities: 29 campsites (@di; 17 with electrical hookups), modern shower facility, picnic areas, open picnic shelters (é), playground, hiking trails (6 miles), interpretive center. Activities: Camping, hiking, interpretive programs. Special Features: Park contains more caves than any other state park in Iowa. An extensive trail system links the park's caves, overlooks, and other geological formations including "Natural Bridge," which stands nearly 50 feet above Raccoon Creek, and 17-ton "Balanced Rock."
