Marcus, (Harold) Stanley (1905– ) retail executive; born in Dallas (son of Herbert Marcus). An inspired marketer, he transformed his father's Dallas store, Neiman-Marcus, into a national retailer known for its exclusivity, millionaire clientele, and extravagant Christmas catalogue. He was president (1950–72) and chairman (1972–75). After 1977 he was a Dallas-based marketing consultant. How to thank TFD for its existence?
