Mardzhanishvili, Konstantin Konstantinovich
Born Aug. 13 (26), 1903, in Moscow. Soviet mathematician. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1964) and Hero of Socialist Labor (1973). Member of the CPSU since 1939. Son of K. A. Mardzhanishvili. K. K. Mardzhanishvili graduated from Leningrad University in 1924. From 1934 to 1949 and then beginning in 1951 he worked at the V. A. Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. His principal works deal with additive number theory (the representation of numbers by sums of powers) and applied mathematics. He has been awarded the Order of Lenin, two other Orders, and several medals. WORKS“Ob odnoi zadache additivnoi teorii chisel.” Izv. AN SSSR: Ser.
