Mark Twain State Park Location: On Highway 107 in Monroe County, near the village of Florida. Facilities: 22 basic campsites, 75 electric campsites, showers, organized group camp, special use area, 6 camper cabins, picnic sites, 2 picnic shelters (1 open, 1 enclosed), hiking trails, swimming beach, 2 boat ramps. Activities: Camping, lake fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, interpretive programs. Special Features: Park is located in the Salt River Hills of northeast Missouri, with rugged terrain reminiscent of southern parts of the state. Limestone bluffs and woodlands overlook the 18,000-acre Mark Twain Lake. The Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site (see separate entry) is located adjacent to the park.
