frequency-shift keying [′frē·kwən·sē ‚shift ′kē·iŋ]
(communications) A form of frequency modulation used especially in telegraph, data, and facsimile transmission, in which the modulating wave shifts the output frequency between predetermined values corresponding to the frequencies of correlated sources.
