Markotkhskii

a mountain range in the northwesternmost part of the Greater Caucasus (the Black Sea Caucasus) in Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. The range borders Novorossiisk Bay on the northeast. Length, about 90 km; elevation, to 700 m. It is composed of a flysch stratum of marls, limestones, and sandstones. The slopes are covered with brush thickets of Christ’s-thorn, oriental hornbeam, juniper, and other vegetation.
