Marks' Mills State Park Location: Southeast of Fordyce at the junction of AR 97 and AR 8. Facilities: Interpretive exhibits, picnic sites. Special Features: Marks' Mills is one of three Civil War battlegrounds in south central Arkansas that were part of the Union Army's Red River Campaign, the purpose of which was to take Texas away from the Confederate troops. The other two battlegrounds are Jenkins' Ferry State Park and Poison Spring State Park (see separate listings).
