Marshal of a Combat Arm
of special forces, and of aviation; a military rank in the Soviet armed forces. The rank’s of marshal of aviation, of artillery, and of the armored troops were introduced by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on Jan. 16, 1943; the ranks of marshal of the engineer troops and marshal of the signal troops were introduced by decree on Oct. 9, 1943.
