Martin Declaration of 1918
a declaration of the Slovak National Council (formed by bourgeois circles in the city of Turčiansky Svätý Martin, now Martin) on the entry of Slovakia into a united Czechoslovak state. Adopted by the Slovak National Council on Oct. 30, 1918, the declaration was the result of a popular movement that evolved in Slovakia under the influence of the Great October Socialist Revolution in Russia.
