Martiny, Philip (1858–1927) sculptor; born in Strasbourg, France. He studied in France with Augustus Saint-Gaudens, emigrated to New York City (1876), lived in Bayside, N.Y., and became known for architectural sculptures, such as the bronze doors of St. Bartholomew's Church, N.Y.C.
