Masan
a port in SE South Korea, on an inlet of the Korea Strait: first opened to foreign trade in 1899. Pop.: 428 000 (2005 est.)

Masan 

a city and port in South Korea, in Kyongsang Namdo Province. Located on the Korea Strait. Population, 191,000 (1970). Masan has a railroad station and locomotive and railroad car shops. Industry consists of steel casting, textile production, and food processing (wine-making and soya-processing). Masan has a drydock and a hydroelectric power plant. There is also fishing and fish processing.
