Mason, Warren P. (Perry) (1900– ) physicist; born in Colorado Springs, Colo. He worked at Bell Telephone Laboratories (1921–65) before going to teach at Columbia University (1965). He made major contributions to the field of piezoelectricity and studies of vibration-induced metal fatigue, and received over 200 patents on telephone equipment.
