Matanuska

Matanuska 

a river in southern Alaska. It flows out of the Chugach Mountains and empties into the Knik Arm of Cook Inlet. From the point where its eastern and southern sources join, it is 121 km long. It is fed primarily by glacial waters. The Matanuska Valley is an important agricultural region producing vegetables and potatoes; there is also cattle breeding.
